We are excited to welcome you back to a new school term filled with hands-on learning, creativity, and new opportunities to grow and explore.

In literacy, we’re diving into storytelling, exploring characters, settings, and building our vocabulary. We'll be practising reading comprehension, phonics, and beginning to write simple sentences and stories. Our class is also working on active listening and speaking skills through group discussions and show-and-tell.

Numeracy this term focuses on understanding numbers, counting strategies, recognising patterns and basic operations i.e. addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Through games and problem-solving activities, students will build their number confidence and enjoy exploring maths in everyday situations.

This term’s science theme is Earth and Beyond. We are learning about day and night, the weather, and the seasons. A highlight this week was exploring the concept of day and night, along with an exciting rain cloud shaving foam experiment that helped students understand how clouds hold and release rain. We’ll also explore how different types of weather affect the clothing we wear.

Cooking lessons are a fun and practical way for students to learn about measurement, following instructions, healthy eating, and teamwork. This term, we’ll be making simple, nutritious recipes and linking them to our learning in both maths and science.

This term in Visual Arts, our class will be engaging in creative projects that connect with important cultural and commemorative events. Our young artists will explore a variety of materials and techniques as they create meaningful artworks linked to ANZAC Day, Mother’s Day, Sorry Day, and NAIDOC Week. We’ll be working with paints, collage, drawing, and moulding clay to help students express their understanding of these events through art. Each activity is designed to foster creativity, cultural awareness, and individual expression.

We’re looking forward to a wonderful term of learning, discovery, and fun.
