Dear Coolbellup Learning Centre Community,
As we approach the end of Term Two, I want to take a moment to reflect on what an incredible journey it has been. Week 9 is here, and with just one week to go until the holidays, it is the perfect time to celebrate the achievements and energy that have defined this term.
From engaging classroom activities to meaningful community events, our students have truly embraced every opportunity to learn, grow, and connect. The enthusiasm and dedication shown by both students and staff have made this term one of the most vibrant yet. A heartfelt thank you to our families for your ongoing support, which continues to be the foundation of our success.
Semester One reports have now been distributed, and it has been wonderful to see families engaging in conversations with teachers about their child’s progress. These meetings are a valuable opportunity to reflect, celebrate achievements, and plan for a successful Semester Two.
A quick reminder that the WA Student Assistance Payment is still open for applications until Friday, 4 July. This initiative helps families with school-related expenses, and we encourage all eligible families to apply via the ServiceWA app. If you need help locating your child’s WA Student Number, please reach out to us.
As we wrap up the term, let’s keep the momentum going and finish strong. I hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved two-week break filled with rest, joy, and quality time with loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you back refreshed and ready for an exciting Term Three on Tuesday the 22nd of July.
Warm regards,
Sarah

LA7 Newsletter Term 2
One of the highlights this term has been exploring the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’ with the amazing Sensorium Theatre. Each week our class swishes through grass, splashes through a river and stumbles through a big, dark forest. Hopefully we’ll find a bear soon!!

As the term has progressed, our students are becoming more self-reliant, as they follow their daily timetables and actively participate in classroom routines. Our students are continuing to develop number recognition and counting skills and mastering initial sounds. As their enthusiasm for learning continued to shine in Science, we have been exploring weather and thunderstorms.

LA6 Newsletter
This term, LA6 has been full of energy, creativity and hands-on learning experiences. Despite the chilly weather, students have been busy indoors and outdoors, embracing every opportunity to learn and grow.
We’re thrilled to welcome two new students to our classroom. Isaac joined us toward the end of Term 1, and Riley became part of our class this term. It has been a joy to see them form new friendships and engage in our activities.
A highlight of the term was our cooking sessions, where students made delicious pizzas and sausage rolls. The pride on their faces as they enjoyed the food, they made was wonderful to see!
We also had the exciting opportunity to take part in a Bunnings gardening incursion. Students rolled up their sleeves and got their hands dirty planting beetroot and strawberries.
We’re proud of the learning and resilience students have shown this term. Thank you to families for your continued support, and we look forward to more exciting learning adventures next term!

AFL Clinics – Building Skills and Team Spirit
Each Friday morning, our students have been taking part in exciting AFL clinics led by coaches from WA Football. These sessions are a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their footy skills such as kicking, handballing, marking, and teamwork- in a fun and inclusive environment.
The clinics are designed to cater to all skill levels, encouraging every student to participate, stay active, and enjoy the game. Beyond physical development, the program also promotes important values such as sportsmanship, resilience, and collaboration.
It has been wonderful to see our students grow in confidence and enthusiasm each week.
Students from LA8 have been experiencing the magic of Sensorium Theatre through a series of immersive, sensory-rich incursions inspired by the much-loved children’s book We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury.
Each session brought elements of the story to life in creative and engaging ways. One week they explored the theme of water, where students interacted with the sights, sounds, and sensations of rivers, rain, and splashes. Another focused on Grass, inviting students to explore the textures, scents, and movement of grassy fields.
These inclusive performances were designed to support students of all abilities, encouraging sensory exploration, communication, and imaginative play. A big thank you to Sensorium Theatre for creating such a joyful and meaningful experience for our school community!
