Principal's Update

What a busy start to term we have had! IEP meetings have been held - only a few to complete next week.  Teachers are updating the IEPs based on discussions with you and these will be sent home soon.  You will receive 2 copies - one to sign and return the other to keep.  You may also make any additional amendments to the plan and return those marked on the IEP for alteration.

I would like to welcome two new students and their families to our school, Kelvin and Rufus. With these enrolments our school is almost full for the year.

Swimming lessons (PP-Yr6) are just around the corner - please send in your money and consent forms ASAP as we need to make up duty and attendance rosters for both the pool and for those remaining at school. Final date for money is Friday March 14th.

Also, please remember that if your child is going to swimming lessons in weeks 9 & 10 they will be off-site from 10.45am so no therapy will be taking place. (If the student is not swimming, I am happy for therapists to continue with their visit). Please share this information with your therapist/s.

Thank you to everyone who has returned their therapy request forms - we have started allocating sessions and therapy has begun for a number of students. We still have a few forms to collect - if you can send those in ASAP that would be greatly appreciated.

A majority of our students have taken quickly to our change to eating and play timing at recess and lunch. The new times are as follows;

These are the new bell times

Recess

10:45 Recess starts – Play time

10:55 Time to go to UCA to eat

11:05 Recess finishes

Lunch

1:05 Lunch starts – Play time

1:30 Time to go to UCA to eat

1:45 Lunch finishes

We have many new families in our school community this year and we thought it would be nice to welcome them with a morning tea.  We also love the excuse to catch up with our long term parents and carers too of course.  So, we are holding a Morning Tea on March 25th from 9-10am.  It would be lovely to see as many of you at the event as possible- we promise to supply some yummy food to wash down with a cuppa.  I have included an invitation and an RSVP in this edition -please let us know if you are coming along - I look forward to seeing you there.

Please remember that you can be involved in our school in many ways - via the P&C or by joining our School Council - please feel free to contact me if you are considering either of these roles.  In addition, you can make suggestions and/or raise issues via the Schoolzine Newsletter's feedback option.

I know a few families have big things planned for this long weekend and I hope you all enjoy some quality family time.

Stay safe and have a fantastic long weekend!

Kind Regards,

Sarah
