Wow I can't believe we are already at the end of term one! Thank you for your support of the school this term, it has all been very hectic settling new students and staff, following up all the paperwork that needs to submitted each year to us and from us to the Department all while having a change in Principal and Deputy, swimming lessons and assemblies and dodging the flu, colds, upset tummies and non ceasing cases of nits!
The one thing that has been truly great - other than working with the wonderful students and staff each day - has been the opportunity to set time to collaborate with you on IEP's. The teachers value your input and without it we would not be able to provide the opportunities for your child that we do. So thank you once again.
I have an update regarding staffing for next term- Ms Winrow will be staying on at Castlereagh for another term. This means that I will be staying on as Principal and Mrs Gardiner will be staying on as Deputy for Term Two. As a school we wish Ms Winrow all the best for a productive term two.
We look forward to seeing students return on MONDAY April 28th. Our school development day next term will be the 30th of May. On this day students will not attend school as all CLC staff will be attending an Education Support Network Conference. I hope you all have a fabulous Easter break and get to enjoy the holidays with family and friends.

LA5 Newsletter
This term, our class has focused on strengthening our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) routines and expectations, creating a supportive and respectful learning environment. We have also been developing our communication skills, using Touch Chat to learn how to request our favourite items and games. In addition, we have been working on building our self-regulation skills to help manage emotions and behaviours throughout the school day.

On Thursday morning before our swimmers headed off to the pool, we got together as a school and showed each other the Easter crafts we have been doing, we danced to music, explored some sensory play and made hot cross buns and biscuits. This was all followed by a very special visit from our friend the Easter Bunny!
